Summary
We invite you to immerse yourself in an unparalleled season of giving and receiving on our Gifts of India Tour with two unique opportunities to engage directly with India’s youth and to give back to local communities in need. Beginning in urban Jaipur, we will volunteer with the Ladli Center, an organization offering vocational training for orphaned children. From Jaipur, we travel to the rural village of Dehradun, in the foothills of the Himalayas to support the good work of the revered Buddhist monk, Lama Tenzin Choegyal, who founded an orphanage called the Children’s Educational Development Society (CED House), which provides shelter an education for children he rescued from the Dolpo region of Nepal. (see blog about our visit to the CED House).
We will work alongside Lama Tenzin and his children on a variety of service-learning projects, including helping to build a library, a cross-cultural photography project and community service work with the children to support of the Tibetan elderly in the Derhadun.
